One of the world’s great wildlife experiences - Yellow Water Cruise, Kakadu
Crown of the Top End, Kakadu National Park is a wonderland of spectacular landscapes, ancient culture and natural history. But at the centre of this national park lies the jewel in that crown.
Yellow Water-Ngurrungurrudjba in the Bininj language-is a haven for wildlife and incredible scenery. From the safety of the flat-bottomed launch, the cruise shows us everything from giant saltwater crocodiles to thousands of birds that live here.
We even spot water buffalo and wallabies on the floodplains. And then the sun sets. It's like a pyrotechnics display.

      @@peterrooke5336 🤣🤣🤣 nice tactics - think I would’ve had to do the same. Thankfully the showers have improved here too - no more brown water but it is very saline bore water, so you never feel really clean. Tbh my only criticism of our stay. Not much they can do about that though.

    Would you recommend the heli tour?

    • @Mrandmrsromance
      @Mrandmrsromance 11 месяцев назад

      There are a few reasons why we’d recommend the tour if budget and time allows. First, it’s simply beautiful - to see the reef and Hill Inlet from the air is incredible. It’s also a quicker (and much slicker) way to get back to Hamilton Island. Best of all, if you get a bit sea sick, the water crossing to ReefWorld can get quite rough, so avoiding that is definitely a plus!

      @@missaamane8580 amazing!! Hope you have the best time! Top tip: take 2 sets of swimwear so you have a dry set to put on when you go back in the water (and you will want to!) - makes it much more pleasant and quicker! Oh and re: the stars, it’s almost impossible to photograph them well because the pontoon moves too much for low-light long-exposure photography

    Gotta stay here because my apartment building is fixing the landing to the second story, no access to stairs for at least a week. But, it looks pretty nice, so I guess I shouldn’t complain too much. Luckily, we got an adjoining room for the kids, so I think we’ll survive 😅 Thanks for the tour!
